    Hello World!!

    THE INTERNET....AT MY HOUSE......FINALLY!!!!!!

I know that most of you are thinking, "It's about time!" and believe me that no one is thinking that more than me!! It has been far to long since I have had the internet in my own house, on my very own computer (well, Joey's too). Yippee!! So there will be more entries and I will be more accessible to the world. Sometimes I wonder if that is actually a good thing.

Anyway, updates.......Noah is finally completely, utterly, and totally potty-trained! (It's about time on that one too) It took him just to run around the house with no pants on. Also the incentive that if he went in the toilet all the time he would get a kitty! So he is trained and now we have a teeny, tiny kitty. She is 6 weeks old and adorable!! We named her Zoey and she is striped grey with white legs. I will post a picture now that I have the internet. (Can you tell I am excited?!?)

So we not only added a new animal to our house, but we are also going to be adding a new baby! That's right, I am pregnant! I found out about 2 or 3 weeks ago and I figure that I am due right around Thanksgiving. Another baby around the holidays. I told Joey that we need to plan these things a little bit better. We will have birthdays in October, November, December, and January! Sheesh! Thinking

So that is what is new in the Mitchell family. The weather is beautiful here and I can't wait for the kiddie pool to open! (The FREE, outdoor, kiddie pool that is right down the alley from my house at the park) Not to sound like I am bragging or anything, but life is good! Till my next entry.......keep your nose clean.Wink

    Blog block

So I haven't written in a while. I haven't been on the internet for a while either. I really need to get the internet at my house.

Well, it's been warm here lately and we have been doing yard work. I've never had a yard before so this has been fun. Hard, but fun! We have started a compost heap and we are planning on starting a garden soon. My sister says that the yard is full of red ants, so we will see how the gardening goes.

Other than that things haven't been too different or new or exciting. Easter was fun! We bought way too much candy for our little family and it is WAAAAAYYYY too tempting to eat. I think that I am going to be 200 pounds before I know it! Good thing summer is coming and I will spend more time outside and OFF my butt!

Oh! We are also getting a kitty!! Noah is FINALLY potty-trained and we told him that if he goes potty in the toilet ALL the time then he can get a kitty. They are almost big enough to take home. I'm so excited! I've never had a cat before. We will see how it goes. They are too cute though!!

Teach them while they are young

My son after he has devoured a BYU fan!

I love these pictures! He actually got into some paint that my sister forgot she had in her back room. Good thing it was tempra paint so it just washed right out. I'm just glad that I had him wearing his Utah sweatshirt that day! Go Utes!!
    March 02

    March Already?!?

Happy March everyone! Well, I start my job tomorrow. I'm excited and not so excited at the same time. It's just a job. Not something that is going to keep my interest for long. I will let you know how it goes.

I am at my mom's house right now and they haven't been here all weekend so it is freezing in here. I will write more later when my fingers aren't little meat popsicles!
    February 19

    Finally!

So I thought that I might actually put in a blog entry. I really don't have much to say.......since the last time I blogged I got a job! Then I got a different job and put in my two weeks notice at the other job. I guess something did happen since my last enrty.

My first job was in the deli at the grocery store. I worked there about 7 years so it wasn't that hard to get back into the swing of things since nothing really changed there. Speaking of 7 years ago......Dallin turned 7 years old on the 15th! I can't believe that it has been that long since I placed him! I got some pictures of him on the 14th (the best V-Day present!). I will have to post some of them on here.

So my second job is now at the Maverik gas station!! It pays more per hour and I don't have to touch raw chicken all day!! BONUS! I haven't started it yet so we will see if I even like it. I know that it kind of seems like a step backwards, but eventually I will get my resume together and give it to all the dentists around here. And hopefully they will consider me for an Assistant. We are just trying to save a little money and it's nice to have something different to do a few days a week. The good thing is is that Joey loves his job and comes home with a smile on his face!

Anyway, Happy late Valentine's Day to all!! Red heart .............
    January 28

    My House(well, my rental house)

So here it is! I love it!

Here is the outside. There is a garage, but it has a bunch of stuff in it that is my sister's so we don't really use it yet.

This is my kitchen and dinning room. That is the bathroom door on the left and the washer and dryer is in the upper right corner at the end of the countertop.

Here is my living room from the same spot I took the one of the kitchen. It is a mess and the only room that isn't put together yet. It's only been a week and a half so I still have time untill I'm considered lazy, right?

This is Noah's bed. He loves it! it is built into the wall and it makes a nice little play place for the kids underneath it. Elias is still in a crib and it is on the opposite corner of the room.

This is my closet!! I love it! My brother-in-law built it when they lived in the house. Now I don't have to worry about buying a bigger dresser.

We also have a downstairs room with a room for storage/food storage downstairs as well. It is in worse shape than my living room so it's not going to be posted untill it's done. It needs spackle, paint, and new carpet as well so it might be a while untill it is on here. I love my house! It feels like home and not some strange place that we are living in for a little while. Most of all I love it because I don't walk out the front door and right into a cloud of cigarette smoke from my neighbor! Yuck!!

    January 18

    FREEDOM!!!!!

So we finally moved out of my parents house!! Yippee!!!!! It hasn't even bee a whole day and our house (yes I said house) is a mess, but it feels great to have our own space! We are renting a house that my sister owns. It's a 3 bedroom, 1 bath, with a basement and a room for some actual food storage. I just have to say...... I love having a house! Not to have to worry what other people are hearing or having to be quiet because there are people living RIGHT NEXT TO us! What a glorious day! I will put pictures on here when I find our camera. I will actually cook food when I can find stuff to cook with. Lots of things to do, but I am not complaining....I have a house!!

    Monday Morning

    A funny story.....

As many of you know I have a mentally challenged sister named Sarah. She is 34, still lives with my parents, and for those who have met her know that she is quite the chatter box. With that said, yesterday after church Joey and I were in our room downstairs eating lunch(we live with my parents right now too). My dad and Sarah were in the downstairs family room and I could hear my dad whistling, but I wasn't paying much attention enough to hear much else. At that moment Joey turns to me and says, "Your poor dad". I said, "Why are you saying that?" and before I could finish my sentence I hear my dad yell from the other room, "WOULD YOU BE QUIET! YOU'RE DRIVING ME NUTS!" And then I hear Sarah just giggle and say, "Dad, you a nerd".

Joey and I laughed so hard!!! I guess Sarah was sitting there playing a game she got for Christmas and just kept saying, "Hey, dad.....hey, dad...hey, dad" and then rambling on incoherantly about something that happened at church.

It was hillarious! It made all that has been sucking lately just go away! I love my sister and she has made our family so much fun! Sometimes I wish I was her!

    New year....new calling

Happy New Year 2009 to all!! Another year come and gone.....nothing too exciting to report. We had a fun holiday season. Most of my family was here for Christmas and then my brother that lives in Montana was here the weekend after Christmas. My sisters and I surprised my parents with a new freezer and they didn't suspect a thing! We took out their old freezer and put in their new freezer Christmas morning and they were totally shocked! My mom cried, of course, and my dad was all smiles. Mostly because he was in the room were the freezer was, looking for something, and he didn't even notice! I told him that he was getting too old and senial to not notice a HUGE freezer! Wink Too funny!!

New year's eve we sat around and played games and ate WAY TOO MUCH food! My family is big on playing games together so my parents bought all of the siblings a game for their families. (Some of the fun ones we got are "30 Seconds", "Bonehead", "Tangoes", and "Witts End".) Of course we always go out on our front porch and shout "Happy New Year" at midnight and I think that more and more of my parents' neighbors join us each year.

Some of our resolutions this year is, 1-to move out of my parents' house (hopefully that will be a resolution that we actually follow through onThinking), 2-lose some weight(for me) and hope I never find it, 3-spend more time as a family and less time watching TV, and 4-magnify our callings. I know that New Year's resolutions and kind of dumb 'cuz if you really wanted to do those things you shouldn't need a holiday to motivate you. It's nice to set goals though and I hope that I can reach these in spight of the new year.

So we got new callings today......can anyone guess what area in the church we might be serving? *Drum roll please*..............You guessed it! Primary!!!! Joey and I are the new sunbeam teachers!! And for those of you who know me.....yes, we will be teaching Noah who is a brand new Sunbeam. I'm just glad that I get to share it with Joey. I think that he will be lots of fun and we really need things that we can do together lately. We aren't really sure how long we will actually be in the ward though. We might be taking care of resolution #1 sooner than we think. My sister and her husband have a house that they said we can rent and the previous renters are finally out of it! So we might only have this calling for a couple of weeks. We will see!

So Happy New Year to all and I hope that this year will be better than the last! Unless you had a good year last year than pooh on you! No, just kidding! Wink I hope that it is the same or even better!
    December 17

    Merry Christmas!

So it has been a while since I last wrote an entry. First I thought that it was my space, but right now I am at my sister's house and now I know that it is not my space, but MY MOM'S computer! How I wish that I had my own computer with my own internet hook up. So here is my update.....I saw 'Twilight'.....I liked it. I had to laugh in a couple spots (like Jasper walking around with his eyes bugging out of his head and when Edward sucked the venom out of Bella, too funny), but over all it was good. I can't wait untill the next one comes out!

Well life has been a little interesting lately. We are still living with my parents. It has it's ups and downs, but I don't really want to move right now considering the average temperature has been -8!! It is freezing up here!! It snowed last saturday and they had to close the highways around the basin. Now it is more like ice chunks rather than snow cuz it's so darn cold!! So that is one reason why we aren't moved. Also, the house that we would move into is still occupied. It's my sister's house that her brother and sister-in-law are living in untill their house is built. Which hopefully will be at the start of the year! How wonderful would that be!!

An update on the boys, Elias just turned 1-years old on the 7th. He still isn't walking, but he takes steps every once and a while. Usually no more than 3 at a time. He is a jabber-jaw and is getting his molars and his canines at the same time. Surprisingly he isn't that miserable most of the time. Noah is still working on the potty training. Or should I say that I am trying to stay on top of reminding him to go potty. I think that I still have a while untill he will finally get it. I am starting to teach him how to write letters and bought some preschool books to work on other aspects of learning. He loves it! He always asks if he can get his books out.

I will be mailing Christmas cards this week. Check your mail and you just might be a lucky recipient! Lucky because I actually remembered, or had written down, your address. Wink  Our Christmas plans aren't exciting. We are staying here trying to save a little money. It's hard not to think you have all this money to spend when you don't have rent or a house payment to pay. I just keep thinking....."We have the money to buy MORE PRESENTS.".....Then I have to tell myself "NO!". I hope that everyone is having a great holiday season! If any of the ladies in my old book-club would like to tell me what book you might be reading or have any other book suggestions I am looking for a good read. Merry Christmas to all!!!!

    Twilight Dilema!!!!

So I have a dilema....it's nothing major, but it came to the surface when Amanda left me a message saying...."Are you ready for Twilight?". The answer to that question is I am, but with hesitation. You know when a movie comes out that is based off of a book and everyone says that the book was better? Or maybe that the movie was nothing like the book? ........I'm already thinking those things just by seeing the previews. In my mind Edward looked blonder and better looking than the actor they chose for him. And Bella, in my imagination, wasn't such a tomboy and the actress' voice sounds so deep to me. Am I just totally crazy or what? Sarcastic

Maybe just my expectaions, or hopes, are way too high......why is this even important in the grand scheme of things? I'm still going to see the movie and I already read all the books, so we will see what my opinion is after this weekend.......*Cue soap-opera music* NoteDum dum dumNote.........Till then....

    Fall

I just have to say what a wonderful day that I had today. It was a beautiful day today! It was 50 degrees and no wind. Just a gorgeous fall day! It started out kind of slow....woke up, got kids bathed and dressed, folded laundry, sat around for a little while.......Joey is working the "graveyard shift" tonight so that means he doesn't have to be to work until 11PM so he was home...with me....ALL day.....Now, I love my husband, but when you are not used to them being home all day they tend to throw off your daily "mojo".

So, we decided that it was too beautiful to sit inside so we went to the park. Well on the way there (which is only about 4 blocks) BOTH boys fell asleep! So we turned around and put them down for a nap......let me tell you how nice it is to have both kids asleep at the same time.....It's bliss!!! Just to sit and have a moment of peace.......aaaahhhh!

Now back to my story...after the nap we headed to the park and Noah ran all over the play set. Elias crawled to where ever he could crawl to. They both went up stairs and down slides and rode spring-loaded dinosaurs! After that we played some soccer and "tackle" football (it was more like "fall over when Noah grabs you" football). It was sssssoooooo much fun!! It is days like these that make all the other bad days melt away. It helped me to fall in love with my family all over again!

    It's A Girl! (Take 2)

For those of you who actaully read my blog and saw my last entry about my neice......I had to delete it. I got an email from MSN saying that I had a picture that wasn't appropriate and I had to delete it or they would delete me, well my blog. That makes me sick and saddened! Mostly sick! To  think that people actually look at newborn babies that way....YUCK!!!!

For those of you who actually read my blog and DIDN'T see my last entry......I have a new neice born on the 2nd of November. Her name is Jaelen and she is a dolly! I really don't feel like saying much more than that because I am a little upset. Here is a picture of her that I hopefully won't get an email about....
    Pretty Princess
She is adorable and a week old as of today.

To those sick-o's out there...Shame on you!! You disgust me and make life a lot more diffucult to live. As if it wasn't hard enough all ready. Thanks a bunch.

    This is Halloween!

This is how we do halloween in wyoming! Just kidding..I found it on-line and thought it was funny.

    Happy Halloween everyone!!!

I hope that tonight goes better than last night at the carnival. Noah did not want to get into his costume for anything or anyone! He is in this funk that mom and dad know nothing and he is going to do what he wants. It's driving me crazy!! Anyway.....enough venting......our family has a tradition on Halloween that we go 'trick or treating' then come home and have hot apple cider and eat doughnuts! Yummy!! As if candy wasn't enough. It is nice to have something warm and sweet that isn't candy since most years we are 'trick or treating' in the snow! This year is going to be warm. It was 70 degrees yesterday!! I'm loving it!!

What are some of your Halloween traditions?

    Potty Training & Pumpkin Carving

    back-page-potty-training-whistler-rest-area-sign-headerimages
We are potty training....finally!! Three cheers for me....well, maybe Noah instead. He is now 3 years old and it's about time....diapers are expensive! He has been doing fairly well. There have been accidents of course (it's only been 3 days), but I think that the light is starting to come on a little bit. No accidents today!! WoooHoooo!! Keep your fingers crossed though, there has been no #2 action today. For some reason he doesn't grasp the fact that poop and pee BOTH go in the toilet! Pee he can do...poop?.....well let's just say it's not fun for me! And I thought poopy diapers were gross! Boy was I wrong!

So I have realized that I am now addicted to putting pictures on my blog. Maybe it's because I don't have much that is interesting to say or maybe it's because I think my kids are cute! I have no pictures of potty training so don't be alarmed! I thought about it though, but I think that it's embarrassing enough that Noah calls them "panties" instead of "underwear". I can thank Joey for that one! He thinks it's hillarious. Anyway, we carved our pumpkins today and took some cute pictures. We also went to "Halloween story time" and the boys got to wear their costumes. They are too cute!

Noah held this for about 5 seconds. Muscle Man!!

So Noah is a lion and Elias is a puppy. He didn't have them on in these pictures, but Elias has mittens that look like paws. They are going to be fun on Halloween! There is a halloween carnival for the headstart preschool here on thursday, 'trunk or treat' at the church for our ward friday and then 'trick or treating' that night! We will NOT be hurting for candy that is for darn sure!! I wonder what will come first......cavities or 20 pounds! Confused

    Happy Birthday Noah!

    Happy Birthday to you!
    Happy Birthday to you!
    Happy Birthday dear Noah!
    Happy Birthday to you!

So his actual birthday was friday, but we've been busy. (surprise, surprise) I can't believe that he is 3 years old already! When you ask him how old he is it sounds like he is saying "freezer old". It cracks me up every time! So I really don't have much else to say. Here are some pictures of his birthday...

    Noah's 1st Stitches!!

Yes I said STITCHES! 7 of them infact! Before I start with the story I must apologize to all those I didn't see this weekend while I was in Salt Lake. That would be everybody! We came, went to the wedding, slept, packed, went to Instacare, then left. In and out like a fast moving storm! It was a crazy, exctiting, no sleep weekend for me!

Fist of all....my sister-in-law's wedding was beautiful! She was beautiful, the place where she got married was awesome, and the food was especially tastey!!Wink Here is a pic of my gorgeous sister-in-law, Sarah, and her husband, Brandon.
    Barbara to Debbie 011

So that was part of our "fun" little weekend. Now on to the good stuff..........We borrowed my brother-in-law's truck to pick up all the stuff that didn't fit in the trailer when we moved, that we left at my mother-in-law's. It is a nice truck and it is also a TALL truck. Well, we just got done packing on Saturday and I was getting Elias ready to leave and Joey was making sure the back of the truck was all covered so nothing would blow out........Noah had just had a diaper change and wanted to go play with a little girl that lived next door.......He walked out of the gate, latched it, and turned to run next door and......WHAM!!!!!!! He smacked his forehead right on the edge of the open tailgate! Split his head like a tomato! The screaming started and then got louder when the blood started gushing!........Now those of you who have ever dealt with a head wound know that they bleed fast and hard! So I was thinking that it looked worse that it actually was..........I was wrong! Once the bleeding stopped (which didn't take too long, thank goodness) I looked at it and I knew that we needed to go to the doctor!

We were minutes away from leaving! Minutes away from not having to spend $$$$ on a no insurance hospital bill! (That, thank goodness, was not as much as I thought!) So we took Noah to Instacare and, an hour and 7 STITCHES later, we were on the road back to Lovell. My poor child has taken after his mother! I am accident prone and, just from observing his short 3 years on earth, it looks like he is too!

Here is a picture of the after math. For those of you with weak constitutions turn away now. (It's not that bad!)

    Silly children!

So I love the age that Elias is at! He is 10 months old and standing on his own (he doesn't quite grasp walking yet), crawling everywhere, drooling and jabbering like crazy, and growls at me like a bear when he wants something that I'm eating. His latest thing, well there are two, the first is that there seems to be some kind of Elias magnet on my parents' wood-burning stove. I can't keep him away from it!! Every time that he goes near it I take him away and say no, but the minute that I put him back on the floor he just can't help but crawl back to it! This is not a good thing since now that it is cold here the stove is full of fire and HOT! Now my parents have had this trouble with all of their grandchildren and most of them learned the hard way (which usually includes burnt fingers), but I don't want him to learn the hard way! When he hurts himself he just has this terrible, hyperventalating cry and I can only imagine the sound that would come from him if he touched that stove! Sad

Second thing is that he has learned how to climb stairs! Now I know that this is an important skill to learn as a kid, but between the stairs and the fireplace.....let's just say that I am getting QUITE the work-out!! The stairs are his new favorite thing to do. He just mastered how to climb UP the stairs, but not down so it make me a little nervous. He is adorable though!
    Lovell and Elias 009

He is quite silly and growing up way to fast! Noah loves being here and being able to play with all his cousins. He is one tired boy when bed time rolls around! Joey is liking his job so far, but we will see if that changes when he has to work 7pm-7am. I am liking things so far. Not much to do....so I've just been cleaning my parents' house. My mom is quite thankful for that. I put some pictures on my albums of Lovell. These are murals that have been painted on the side of buildings and then they made a little park next to them. It makes the town look so cute and well put together! Enjoy!

    Nothing in particular

I'm having a blog block.....do you ever have one of those? I want to write something, but really don't have anything very interesting to say. So to those of you who are reading this I apologize in advance.

It's ffffrrrreeeeeeeezzzzz-ing up here!! We had a storm blow in here yesterday and today it snowed!!! The wind chill is 18 degrees!! I have mentioned that I hate winter!! I really don't like the cold and I could do without snow. I do like having 4 seasons though. I think that I wouldn't like summer if it was summer all year round. But I could really live without cold and snow as mentioned above.
    snow_storm

My sister, her daughter, me and my boys were driving home today from running errands and the car in front of us almost ran off the road and hit a pole! It was very scary!! It was snowing pretty good and he was driving about 70 mph or more, swerving all over the road, and just about wrecked his car right in front of us!! Needless to say we slowed down and let him get a good distance in front of us so WE didn't become part of his accident. Stupid driver!!

    I warned you.......blog writting block.

It's late, you're bored, and I'm trying to put my youngest son to sleep. (Too bad he can't read this then he would go right to sleep! Sleepy) I better call it a night. I promise bigger and better things on the horizon!

    Lumberjacks...

So my parents have a wood-burning stove that heats their house for the winter......which in turn means that they need wood to burn in said stove. I love it! It has a glass front so you can turn the lights off and sit by the light of the fire.......how romantical!

Well, here in Wyoming, my family goes to the mountain a few times before it starts getting cold and chops down trees and brings it home and then chops them into firewood. My dad has been trying to get it all chopped and stacked for a couple of weeks now.

This is one of my favorite memories as a kid. I loved the time that we got to spend with my dad and he loved the help. When I was outside today just the smell in the air and the crispness to the temperature......it just brought me back to simpler times and great moments with my fam. (Mostly just me, my dad, and my brother Luke) I think that all of you need to smell the smell that is around here during the fall. We harvest sugar beets and there is a sugar factory here that produces the sugar from these beets.....They say that smell is one of the greatest memory producers......well, this smell sends me back to the first fall that we lived here. I used to HATE the smell! When I first encountered it I though..."What is that most terrible smell?!?" But ever since then it is just part of the smell of fall for me.

I hope that those of you reading this don't find it as corny as my husband does! Speaking of smells....he is a stinker!Wilted rose Wink
